Celtic travelled up to Dingwall to take on a rejuvenated Ross County under Owen Coyle in today’s lunchtime game.

The Bhoys always get a tough game in the Highlands no matter who we play, but invariably come out on top, like most games these days.

Today’s match was no different.

Brendan Rodgers sent out an unchanced side to start the game, with the added bonus of Leigh Griffiths and Jozo Simunovic on the bench. Always nice to have options…

In typical Celtic style, the Hoops controlled possesion from start to finish, although we didn’t trouble the County keeper too much in the first forty five. However, we certainly should have had a penalty midway through the half when Callum McGregor had his feet taken from him as he was about to shoot.

I’ve seen them given up there for a lot less, but referee Walsh wanted nothing to with it.

Going into the second half goalless, Brendan decided to keep with the same personnel, until midway through when he replaced James Forrest and Callum McGregor with Jonny Hayes and Leigh Griffiths.

It proved to be an inspired move when on 77 minutes, Leigh Griffiths scored a superb free-kick from 25 yards out. A goal worth winning any game!

And that’s how it panned out, eeven though fellow substitute Olivier Ntcham struck the post with the keeper beaten, the Bhoys ran out winners by the solitary goal.

So, our unbeaten run goes on. Sixty-four games and going strong…
