In our new series #BlastFromThePast we’ll look at games against our next opponents from previous seasons.

This weekend Celtic host Motherwell at Celtic Park, so we’ll have a wee look at a corresponding game nearly forty years ago on 16th March 1977.

Result: Premier Division – Celtic 2 Motherwell 2

Celtic twice took the lead through Ronnie Glavin (1 pen) and Shuggie Edvaldsson (44), but the Steelmen managed to claw their way back, with goals from Graham (45) and former Celtic midfielder Vic Davidson (79) to give both teams a share of the points.

The game was watched by a crowd of 23,000, which was a decent crowd for a Wednesday night, full match report here.
