Celtic will face Sevco another three times before the end of the 2016/17 season, making a total of six games against the new club from Govan.

With the teams now scheduled to meet another three times after they were drawn together in the Scottish Cup semi-final for the second year running, it’s entirely possible Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic could emulate Martin O’Neill’s side of 2003/04 and whitewash the Ibrox side.

Although O’Neill’s team had a five game whitewash of four league wins and a Scottish Cup was against the old club, it’s fair to Brendan’s Bhoys could beat that feat with six wins over Sevco, four in the league, one in the League Cup and one in the Scottish Cup.

At this moment in time, Celtic have gone 34 games domestically without defeat and don’t really look like losing any time soon, even though we had a wee scare against St Mirren today at Celtic Park, we still ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

This team could quite easily go through the whole season undefeated, and by doing so, the Sevco whitewash would be a distinct possibility…
