Why Have Celtic Said Nothing About This Corruption?

By Fanzone

Time To Speak Up…

Today’s ‘shenanigans’ at Hampden have just confirmed what EVERY paranoid Celtic fan has known for decades, Scottish Football is corrupt to the core.

And it’s not only us ‘Tims’ that know so, Raith Rovers chairman Turnbull Hutton told the world outside the national stadium this afternoon.

Rather than requiring approval from 75% of the member clubs the new deal will go through with a 50% majority to allow Sevco into the First Division.

(We are being) bullied, rail-roaded, lied to,” Hutton explained. “We have been threatened and bullied. It’s not football as I know it.

“It was a ridiculous document that came out last week, whereby that threat was there if we don’t vote for an acceptance into the First Division a breakaway SPL2 will come along and all those clubs that didn’t vote won’t be invited.

“What kind of a game are we running? Corrupt.”

What does frustrate me is the fact the statement came from the Kirkcaldy clubs chairman.

Surely the chairman or chief executive at Celtic have something to say on this matter. Or are they too complicit in the restructuring that will allow Sevco get away with cheating?

Might sound ridiculous, but if they don’t tell us otherwise, how will we know?

One things for sure, if they don’t speak up now, they’ll soon find out through the turnstiles how their inertia helped let the tax dodgers off, scott free.

I think some of you’s need to get a grip, as much as we don’t like them we need them, yes they should be punished but by banishing them right out the way we are only hurting ourselves, no players or decent ones at that will come play for us, we will struggle in the champions league qualifiers and end up loosing our better players as they will get fed up with no competition and we will replace them with the likes of Stephen Dobbie

  2. greenbhoy says:

The silence coming from Celtic really say’s it all to me unless they are doing something behind scenes of course.Celtic still want fans to buy season tickets yet will not come in public and voice there concerns like the raith rovers chairman.
Celtic really need to say something about this or they could find themselves struggling to sell season tickets for the new season.

  3. bogbhoy says:

liewells priority and desmonds will be as always the ££££££ not sporting integrity. I really don’t expect anything else, he hasn’t said anything yet as they’ll not want to come out and say anything in support of a newco in the SPL or first division in case it doesn’t get the support of the other clubs and fails anyway. They’ll be hoping for it and supporting it no doubt and if it can happen they’ll work on making a statement to pull the wool over the eyes of us Tims yet again, something they see as palatable to us but no point upsetting anyone yet until they know how things are gonna turn out. Just as they’ve prioritised the £ over the quality of the team for many years and made excuses and let a terrible huns side win a few titles they’ll do the same now, anyone who thinks otherwise i’d say is quite foolish.

  4. Super Ally says:

Celtic fans are paranoid, thats a fact

You all claim that all of Scottish football is against you and that Dunfermline and Kilmarnock throw games to allow Rangers to win the league(Dunfermline are one of the most outspoken teams of the Green and Spl plan to paracute us into the first division so i think you owe them an a apology)a league which all Rangers fans don’t won’t to be in, but hey lets not let FACTS get in the way.

As a Rangers fan i apologise for nothing, we were miss lead by our last owner and the media who build him up. I’m a customer of the SPL and i pay to go into the grounds and buy TV so i can watch it but i am asked to take responsibility for the current situation we find ourselves in.

I ask you this question, should Barcley banks customers apoligise for the actions of their PLC. The answer is no but you continue to stand on your higher moral ground(watch you don’t fall off) and explain to the world that your disgust at Rangers is down to sporting intergerty and not your own bigorty.

I have another sporting saying and that is the football community. In other countries they appreciate what their rivals bring to the table and support them then they have fallen on hard times and not act as vultures to kick them when they are down.

As a Rangers fan i accept that what Murray and Shite did to our club means that we have to start from the bottom and if we our in the first division next season then it will be against the wishes of most of the gers fans and agreed by the rest of the chairmen, but lets stop all this crap about Rangers being the established club. If we were we would be treated like teams like Marseille,Juventus,Real Madrid and AC Milan who were treated a lot more faviourly than Rangers are being treated in worse circumstances.

  5. Big P says:

Sit tight, let the others do the talking unless we have too. Its a game of poker, keep a stright face, dont declare your hand..yet. We are holding all the aces and you have to pay to see my hand….

  6. Fanzone says:

Alan, please tell me what ‘punishment’ do you find suitable?

  7. Fanzone says:

Bullshit. You’re corrupt club that died only weeks ago were riddled with bigotry, sectarianism and total contempt for everybody and everything. You think that’s acceptable. You don’t have a leg to stand on. Just admit it. You cheated, you’re now trying to use bully boy tactics and you couldn’t give a toss for anyone but Rainjers.

  8. Fanzone says:

Big P, not really into poker pal. Prefer to call it as I see it. Time to talk.

  9. Mark says:

What exactly do you want the Celtic chairman to say on the matter, it’s nothing to do with us. We will have our vote on the matter of allowing newco sevco or what ever they get called this week (just the Huns to me) in to the sphell after that there’s nothing Celtic can do about it. We the fans how ever do have a say if they get in we bhoycott the away grounds including Hampden and see how the teams that voted them in get on remembering the home fans will also boycott there own team, nothing changes for us we stand alone as always same team same club same company same fans pity everybody can’t say the same. GLASGOW CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB SCOTLAND’S TRUE CHAMPIONS. HAIL HAIL

  10. Davie Bhoy says:

Lets be honest here, if Celtic comment its a no win situation the media will jump on any comments for or against and spin it to be another negative story about Celtic. I think keeping you power dry is the best way, let Celtic do their talking in private and watch these idiots that SFA, SPL Blueco or what ever self implode and continue to make them look like the fools they are…..we will get decent players as its money that decides this…….usually, just remember we can hang our heads high and have a blemish free history which we can proudly tell our Grandchildren….and what i laugh we’ve had

  11. Ballybough23 says:

Celtic do need to be careful because fans are watching and waiting–if they were to be complicit in keeping newco at the higher level then fans like myself would have to ree-consider their season ticket payments for the the next 3 instalments. Nothing less than a vote for the 3rd division will suffice.

  12. paul McCann says:

thanks very much for calling us paranoid but at least we are honest law abiding citizens who do pay our taxes and will your club apoligise to the other teams in whatever division you are playing in

  13. Super Ally says:

In all due respect Fanzone u r the bigot and it’s Celtic fans who have threatened boycotts to all the other scottish clubs if they don”t follow your stance, were is the integerty in that. Surely they should have been allowed to come to their own conclusion without the threat of finacial pentalties to their clubs if they look after their own financil interests.

To be fair Rangers fans have behaved in equal distastful manner in saying that they will boycott all the clubs who have voted against them(It’s not Motherwell’s, Hearts and the rests fualt that they our in this situation and they should not be put under any pressure by either Rangers fans or celtic fans) . If your interested in a debate in fairness then i believe that all the clubs in Scotland have a chance to require an equal ahare of the SPL package and break the old firm strangled hold on the league. However if you think thats a good thing for your club then you really are deluded.

What i’m saying in the previous post is that it’s not Rangers fans who want us in the first division but the chairmen of other clubs and the money men. As Rangers fans we want to be in the thirt division, were do you want us

  14. shooglynifty says:

A kicking vulture, where would one go to see such novelty. i’d pay good money to see such.

  15. shooglynifty says:

    Keep the powder dry lads.

  16. Gerry says:

Celtic plc, Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond are playing a blinder. They will speak when it is in their and our best interests to.

They have taken more individual flack from supporters of all clubs and the media and have shown true dignity.

Does any chump on here really think that Dermot Desmond is going to get messed around here? Really??

The guy hasn’t aquired the significant wealth and position he has by lying down to amateurish clowns like zombie fc, charlie green or two bob football authorities like the sfa or spl.

For those ho doubt a simple messasge:

“lord make my words sweet, for tomorrow I may have to eat them”

  17. captain cornflake says:

Celtic are between a rock and a hard place.

The 11 to 1 voting system has gone for ever and if,(as they should),vote against servco for SPl membership.
They will lose millions and the SPL as a competition will be over be over in January, with celtic winning by a canter.

Celtic are a club, born of the people for the people, and if they vote for servco into the SPL – well the moneys there for them to pick up but they will split the club from the fans – and in many cases for ever.
If that become the senario then servco win hands down at every level.
You can only imagine the laughter constenation from the Ibrox legions.

I think Celtic have been bang on with a radio silence approach up to now, however it really is time for ensure no misunderstandings
Celtic should be offering a statement to the fans.

  18. Andybhoy says:

Before now I have agreed with our club’s decision to say nothing and let things play out, in doing so we kept the focus on the SFA, SPL and NewClub instead of giving them any opportunity to deflect attention away from the real issues or allow those hacks in the Scottish press to use Celtic’s stance as a diversionary tactic by making us the main headline.

In doing so we have witnessed just how corrupt those who govern our game really are and just how much of an Ibrox propaganda machine the Scottish sports press really is. Best of all we didn’t have to utter a word, they exposed themselves.

The SFA, SPL and SFL have shamefully conspired to bribe, bully and lie to ensure an easy path for NewClub. They have cast aside fairness, integrity and the very concept of competition to one side in this pursuit yet claim it is for the good of the game which would be laughable if it wasn’t so disgusting. Campbell Ogilvie also amazingly still refuses to resign even though he is up to his neck in the EBT scandal, and we are supposed to believe he as President of the SFA is playing no part in this carve-up masquerading as league reconstruction.

Then there is the good old Scottish sports press who even after all that’s been exposed about Dead R*ngers still stay loyal to it’s Re-animated corpse, and none more so than Jim Traynor who is an utter disgrace to his profession and that’s saying something. That man in particular has used his position to twist and manipulate the facts to scaremonger opposition clubs and their fans with prophecies of financial doom if there is no NewClub in the upper echelons of our game, and has denounced, berated and belittled anyone who talks of justice or sporting integrity claiming they are just baying for blood, bloodthirsty or kicking poor little NewClub when they are down. Instead of this lot stating the facts they stay true to form and continue in their role as an Ibrox PR machine.

The time has now come for Celtic to make a statement, this circus has gone on long enough and we must make our position clear before these people get away with this shameful carve-up of our game. This is the time for Celtic (assuming Lawell and Co. share the same opinion as the Celtic support) and every other club of a like mind whatever league they play in to make a stand and block this before it is pushed through.

If this is allowed to happen then we no longer have a sport, all we will be left with is a group of businesses whose sole aim is competing for money. I personally don’t want to see my FOOTBALL CLUB reduced to nothing more than a profit driven corporation, Brother Walfrid would be turning in his grave at the thought of it.

    Hail Hail.

  19. joratim says:

    Come on Gerry

Would like to think like you.

Started going to Celtic Park as a 4 year old with my father in January 1942.

Have been sold out by different boards for those 70+ years.

Always failed to build on success, put finance ahead of those who provided that finance.

Hope you are correct and I am wrong.

    Still do not trust them.

    All the best

  20. rmabhoy says:

FZ Celtic have already spoken on the matter they have stated they do not need cheats fc They also said they would let us the Celtic fans know when the time is right or words to that effect. What Mark posted was 100% right. There is enough shite flying about at the minute without Celtic fans turning on our club for something that has f*** all to do with us. Celtic have always been Celtic and always will be Celtic NO MATTER WHAT!!

  21. Jmezm says:

The bosses at Parkhead are boxing clever. They’ll deliver the knockout blow when the time is right.

This is a bit too paranoid.

“Surely the chairman or chief executive at Celtic have something to say on this matter. Or are they too complicit in the restructuring that will allow Sevco get away with cheating?

Might sound ridiculous, but if they don’t tell us otherwise, how will we know?”

  22. Jim says:

Great and brave article on The Hub today where the writer gives his reasons on why he wants sevco in the Spl. given by the responces it is not as clear cut as many would have thought on sevco’s demotion to div 3.
In agreement Alan in the first responce on this page gives a very detailed argument whick backs up the writer.
Have to say I have thought that it is a matter of integrity and they should be punished accordingly but financial damage to our club will make us weaker. still undecided.

  23. The current situation affecting the Rangers entity lies fairly and squarely within the walls of Ibrox – nowhere else.

Rangers lived way outside their means for years borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, and failing to meet their tax, national insurance and policing costs.

Because of their financial mismanagement, and possible fraudulent activities many small businesses are now in serious financial trouble.

For years Scottish media oundits fawned over Murray and Smith forever spinning positive stories and failing to dig into the murky undercurrent that afflicted the club.

Craig Whyte was lauded as a billionaire with an impeccable business record. Even the minimum of research by our Fourth Estate would have uncovered shady dealings in relation to his business interests.

No one was willing to stump up, in business terms, a measly £8 million to take over the club, until the Green consortium took over the club.

Then you have Smith and Bomber Brown launching counter bids after the club was bought – why not before?

Posturing or genuine bids – posturing I believe

What I cannot understand is that the fans, ex- players and power brokers want the curent entity to be absolved of any misdeeds of the previous administration, yet retain the power and muscle of the liquidated entity.

Sorry it doesnt work that way.

You are a new entity – without membership of any football organisation at this moment in time

As a new club you have to apply for initial entry (NOT RE-ENTRY) to the SFL. You have no rights or expectations that your request will be accepted.

Swallow your pride, take your medicine, pay your penance – go into the 3rd division with a sustainable business plan – live within your means – work your way through the divisions and try to regain a modicum of the dignity which has totally evaporated in the eyes of all non Rangers fans

  24. Fanzone says:

Rmabhoy, who’s turning on the club? Certainly not me, but from the response I’m not alone in thinking it’s time we made a stance, of some sort.

  25. Fanzone says:

Bit too paranoid? Did you read ANYTHING from yesterday’s press, social media? The place is a midden and we’re standing by watching.

  26. Fanzone says:

Renfrew Tim, well said. Only they don’t think they’ve done anything wrong!

  27. Gerry says:

Joratim, cheers for that, totally respect your post.
    I hope I am too!

  28. Jocky Bhoy says:

Celtic making inflammatory statements changes it from “All clubs” trying to sort this problem out into “Celtic tries to kill off Rangers” – which will be spun as “Irish Catholic Celtic tries to kill off Scottish Presbyterian Rangers”. It is absolutely wrong, but since when did that matter to the Scottish media?

Much better to let the other teams explain why it can’t be allowed to happen rather than let the media try and rally Scotland behind the dead team.

  29. Fanzone says:

Jocky Bhoy, what you’re saying is we keep quiet for fear of misrepresentation?

  30. mick f says:

Throughout all this I have been happy to see those in power at Celtic Park stand back & let things play out, Lawwell & others do a good job (except digging deep in their pockets) but enough is enough!
Doncaster & the SFA two MUST go, they are not even trying to hide their corruption, I can’t believe UEFA or FIFA aren’t speaking out. Scotland is now on a par with the old East Germany & Newco FC are the old Dinamo Berlin. Eventually that system collapsed & it’s time for the same in Scottish football.

  31. Fanzone says:

Mickf, the way Doncaster paints the picture, it’s the fault of all the other clubs. This joker is on the take. There ‘s no doubt about that. Why else would he so vigourously defend the dead club?

  32. JohnP says:

Don’t you just love it when fans of the ex-club Rangers say ‘it wisnae oor fault, we wis duped’. Maybe, but you rubbed everyones nose in it while winning trophies by cheating. Now that this has been exposed you should hold your hands up, admit wrong-doing and then hand back the ill-gotten gains. And please don’t spout utter garbage about ‘not being the establishment team’. The entire establishment is working round the clock to get the best deal they can for an entity that does not even exist as a football club; no team; no stadium and no accounts yet the bosses, many who have been involved in the corruption at Rangers are determned to get this monstrosity a share of the business that is Scottish football, to enable the monstrosity, zombie Rangers to actually exist. Why? I don’t recall such sympathy extended to Celtic back in ’94. Celtic supporters saved the club. Rangers supporters have been far too miserable to pledge the necessary money but don’t worry the other clubs and the scare-mongering media are doing the job for you tight-fisted no-marks.
And as for the Celtic board? I was all for the silence but it is becoming increasingly obvious Celtic want Rangers in the highest league possible. This is shameful and will end my family’s in volvement with the club which stretches back to the start. This is no longer Celtic and scottish football is finished.

  33. Jocky Bhoy says:

“Jocky Bhoy, what you’re saying is we keep quiet for fear of misrepresentation?”

Nah I was saying we are doing the right thing keeping quiet because they didn’t need a rallying cry. They are dead in the water, why given them something might have resucitated them?

Anyway, their corpse is now floating downriver into SFL waters and they will hold their noses as it flows further downstrea,

  34. Fanzone says:

Jocky Bhoy, I bow to your superior knowledge friend, the statement from Celtic was worth the wait.
