Playing for Celtic makes you a target in Glasgow City Centre. That’s a fact.

If you happen to be born in Scotland and choose to play for the Republic of Ireland then in the small minds of Scotland’s Shame that makes you public enemy number one.

Aiden McGeady was the best player in Scottish football for the last three maybe four seasons. The type of player you would pay to watch.

Unfortunately, away from the football ground Aiden’s life was that of victimisation.

Sure he openly admits that he should have behaved differently when out in Glasgow, but who amongst us would turn the other cheek time and again when subject to hateful and racist abuse?

I thought this Scotland ‘one country, many cultures‘ was the place we could live and let live.

Unless your a Catholic, that is.

And before I get the ‘paranoia brigade‘ on at me, just think what goes on around us.

Darren O’Dea threatened while out in the city, Martin O’Neill’s house had a Union Flag stuck in his front garden after a derby match, while his wife and daughters were inside, current manager Neil Lennon viciously attacked, not once but twice in Glasgow.

A Gaelic football team’s new minibus and equipment firebombed, Scared Heart Church in Bridgeton constantly vandalised.

Even at the recent Albion Rovers and Airdrie match the game was spoiled by constant vile sectarian abuse from the Airdrie support.

All the while the Orange Order exercise  their ‘right’ to march down our High Street at nine in the morning, six at night or any other time they see fit, but we can’t walk the streets in safety.

For any of the apologists who may claim that it’s not as bad as it used to be, then I’m sorry, you must be living on a different planet.

Aiden McGeady was forced out of Scottish Football, plain and simple.

Good luck Aiden, you might get peace in Moscow.

Who’d a thought that would be the case?

At the risk of harping on abit, doesn’t it make you feel better knowing the MM are in the financial grubber?

Not so long ago The Mint was rubbing our faces in it with taunts of ‘for every fiver Celtic spend we’ll spend a tenner’.

In fact only a couple of years ago Murray flogged the family jewels in order to bring in new players after the collapse at Kaunas. (Davis, Mendes, The Laff!)

Well, how times have changed.

As Neil Lennon offers Cardiff City and Wales whizzkid Joe Ledley, a four year contract worth £25,000 a week (allegedly), old Wattie over at Castle Greyskull is moaning about being priced out the market for new players.

Aw.

What a shame.

The way it was reported in the press it seemed that way. Poor Walter.

In fact things have got so bad the MM have had to trade in their luxury Parks of Hamilton coach for a more ‘affordable’ means of transport!

When so-called suitor Andrew Ellis informed the Stock Exchange last week that negotiations the buy the Establishment Club were at an ‘advanced stage’, every man and their dug could see the ploy.

Knocking Celtic off the front and back page just as they announced the official appointment of new manager Neil Lennon was more important to the ‘smoke and mirror brigade’ and the press fell for it hook, line and sinker.

There was not a hope in hell that Ellis or any of his cronies would take the MM of Murray’s hand while the HMRC are investigating.

Think of it this way. Would you buy a house not knowing how much you’d eventually have to pay for it?

Of course not.

So the bottom line is this.

Murray hasn’t taken Scotland’s Shame off the market. There just isn’t any takers. End of.

I know it’s taken a couple of days to sink in, but a win against the MM, no matter the competition is ALWAYS a great feeling.

And for once, we got a wee rub of the green.

Sure Scotland’s Shame had a decent claim for a penalty, although the MIB did play on, and if that wee b**tard Miller had scored instead of hitting the post, then they wouldn’t complain about not getting the spot kick.

In other words, the ref played advantage, and they didn’t take it.

Maybe it’s the paranoia coming to the fore, but I’m sure they would have got a pen if the championship race was still alive. Just a hunch….

Anyway, Lenny and big Johan should be given credit for masterminding a win over the ‘manager with no surname’. Their decision to play Mark Wilson in teh centre of defence worked, albeit Mark could have got a bit closer to Judas II for their goal.

Lenny MUST Get The Job.

Personally, I will be shocked if the Celtic board can wheel out a better candidate than Neil Lennon for the managers job.

He has did everything asked of him, and I’m not forgetting the Ross County debacle. How he, and the team reacted to that defeat spoke volumes for me. It would have been easy to down tools and blame everyone else.

But to a man they got their heads down and put in a shift. I know we’ll all wonder why they couldn’t do it for Tony, but that’s for another day.

Seven wins on the trot in the league, including a derby win, suggests he has what it takes to do what’s important first. Win in Scotland. Then we can think about Europe.

A Bitter Old Man

I don’t think anyone could fail to be pissed at the outburst of Der Hun manager Wattie at our German international defender Andrea Hinkel.

All Andy did was give HIS honest opinion of how he felt the previous derby matches had gone. Obviously, the German defender thought that over the three games we were the better side.

What’s wrong with that?

Well, according to the bitter old man that resides over Govan way, his comments were ‘unprofessional’, amongst other things. His rant went on, and on, and on. We’ve won six trophies, you’ve won two, na na na na na!

Playground stuff.

Lenny of course verbally slapped the old git down by telling him to mind his won business. Something that won’t go well with the Laptop Loyal.

How dare he talk to the Loyal Cardigan like that?

We can’t end the week without a bit of political nonsense.

It was good to see the GREEN PARTY get a seat in the General Election and nice to see Peter Robinson lose his seat after 30 years of bigotry ended thanks to his wife and her toybhoy!

Well, there’s a ‘scene’ in the film when Homer is ‘thinking’. And the wee bubble above his head has a monkey crashing a cymbal.

That my fellow Tims is the only way to describe what Mssrs Johnstone, Cameron and the rest of the Laptop Loyal were like when David Murray gave his state of the nation address at Murray towers.

His ‘put up or shut up’ cry was almost statesman like, which is quite appropriate in the week before a General Election.

For a many a year, Der Hun has been subject to these ‘smoke and mirror’ moonbeams. Who can forget the ‘for every fiver jibe at Celtic’, or the more recent Casino pipe dream?

But hey, it gets funnier.

Do you know that the Hun debt will be only £20m next season?

From £139m last week, not including a possible £24m plus fine from HMRC, down to £20m in less than a year.

How can he do that? I hear you ask!

He can’t. And he knows it. The club have been up for sale for more than two years. The parent company doesn’t file it’s accounts on time.

The place is a mess.

Bluenose reporter Darrell King of the Evening Times and ex-Celtic View editor Andrew Smith have both ‘exposed’ the level of debt over at Castle Greyskull. Thus prompting the desperate plea from Murray.

King reported last week that the MM were just ONE vote away from administration. Obviously Homer couldn’t make that meeting!

P.S. Due to the HMRC investigation, it’s unlikely that the Scottish referees will be paid this month!

So, the ‘manager with no surname’ thinks that the SPL have favoured Celtic with the post split fixtures over the last ten years.

Amazing that!

Maybe it’s his age, but the bold Wattie is forgetting one major point here.

Thanks to his seasonally favourable refereeing decisions – you know the ones, opposition penalties denied, perfectly good goals unexplainably chopped off (Celtic, Hamilton and Murderwell spring to mind), it doesn’t matter who or when they play!

You see Wattie likes to be portrayed as a ‘sensible’ statesman of Scottish football by his adoring laptop loyal, when really he’s just a bitter and twisted Hun like the rest of the Scotland’s Shame!

That’s balanced jounalism for you I suppose……..

It’s no coincidence that since the turn of the year there have been THREE ‘honest mistakes’ from the men in black. These ‘honest mistakes’ have resulted in genuine goals being disallowed against the Establishment team, thus easing the way for them to win the SPL.

The first was at Celtic Park on January 3rd, as Marc-Antoine Fortune’s goal was chopped off by the incompetent Steve Conroy.

The second, followed just five weeks later when Calum Murray ruled out a perfectly good Murderwell goal against the MM, turning defeat into draw for the SFA’s chosen few.

Then only last weekend ref O’Reilly (would you believe it?) decided that Hamilton’s James MacArthur’s goal was too good to stand by giving offside when the player was at least three yards onside!

With all this in mind then it only stands to reason that no matter how hard the Sheep try tonight, they’ve no chance really.

Because if they do score a perfectly good goal, it will be disallowed.

Just ask Tony Mowbray, Craig Brown and Billy Reid!

The media and no doubt some of the fans are getting fed-up with the referee, cheating and Rankers bias fiasco that’s still raging on.

Me too. To an extent.

You see, when you want something to change you have to keep on about it. Nagging away, annoying people, getting up the noses of the very same who like the status quo. Because they have what they want.

There was a time when you were encouraged to ‘keep your head down’ and ‘don’t say too much’ about your faith, your heritage and your opinion.

Well I’m sorry folks. None of the above now apply.

By fighting our corner we, Celtic Football Club, Celtic supporters, Catholics , Irish and every other ethnic person have gained some sort of equality in this country.

Do you think we should give it all away?

And go back to the ‘keep you heads down and don’t complain culture of the past.

No. Me neither.

Funny that, now that the MM are sitting with a healthy lead at the top the manager with no surname has been bashing his gums about Celtic, the SFA, Appeal panels, the Oscars, Climate Change and everything else that suits him.

And what makes matters worse is the mainstream media continue to give him the space. (I suppose they have to as he’ll be redundant soon)

In fact they’ll give space to anyone, as long as the piece involves taking the piss out of Celtic or the Celtic support.

They’ve even stooped so low to have a headline with “Dougie The Best Scottish Ref”. It doesn’t take a genius to guess where that quote came from.

It’s little things like this that should be a constant reminder of what we’re up against.

Still you wouldn’t want to be one of them……

P.S. I can only guess this, but the supposed action against Scotland’s Shame singing the Famine Song doesn’t exist now, ofrwere the officials deaf as well as blind last Sunday?
