Transfer Inactivity Causing Concern

To some, the board’s lack of activity in the January transfer window ultimately cost Celtic a fourth successive title in a row.

And this time around, the club have hardly burst the bank to secure new signings, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Danny Fox, Landry N’Guemo, Lukasz Zaluska and China captain Zheng Zhi replacing Naka, Jan, Bobo, Zico and JJPD.

Should the board be pushing the boat out to secure players of a different quality, a WOW signing…..like we were promised three seasons ago.

You decide in today’s poll….

On Their Merry Way…

Clear Out Begins..

Starting anytime after 3.00pm on Sunday the clear out at Celtic Park will commence.

First to go will be the big Guinean leech Bobo Balde. The talk is of a trial at Birmingham with big Feck, personally I think he should be on trial at the Old Bailey for fleecing us of £30,000 a week for the last four years.

Does he think he’s some sort of MP?

Next out the door will be big Jan. Looks like he’s off to Holland to re-join PSV Eindhoven.

Joining him in the exit queue will be Lee Naylor. Don’t know where he’s heading, and don’t really care.

Then there’s the Italian enigma Massimo Donati. Mo flattered to decieve when he first arrived but couldn’t get to grips with the pace of the Scottish game.

No doubt more will go, Mark Brown, possibly Naka and probably Scott Brown, to raise money for the new man in charge.

Either way, the Celtic of next season will be quite different from this season.

Mugged!

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments (18)

First Two Minutes Set Tone

With only two minutes on the clock referee Craig Thomson booked Paul Hartley after winning the ball in a tackle with Judas Miller.

That set the tone for the rest of the match.

As the Bhoys gradually got a hold of the game the Huns scored against the run of play, with Davis out running Maloney at the far post. Questions will be asked if Aiden would have been so easily beaten?

All the same?

All the same?

But the turning point for me was before the goal was even scored. Skippy is about to pull the trigger in the box when he’s grappled to the ground by Whittaker. A stonewall penalty.

Did we get it? Did we Feck!

Even that diddy Scott Booth admitted there was contact, so that just shows you it MUST have been.

We should have known then that it wasn’t going to be our day.

Then with minutes to half-time big Jan has a header cleared off the line.

The second half was all one-way traffic but we couldn’t break down a Hun defence that has been used to defending in numbers.

At one point the Setanta stats showed Celtic had 71% of the possession, and that’s at the Hunnery!

Still, no matter what the score….

I’m proud to be a Tim!

Time For A Clean Sheet..

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments Comments Off

Defence Hold Key To Go Four Points Clear

If the Bhoys come away from Sheepland with a clean sheet today, I’m certain we’ll have all three points in the bag.

Regardless of how many injuries they have, Tango and Sash will have the Sheep up for the game.

WGS, Looking For A Win

WGS, Looking For A Win

Any notion of helping their beloved Glasgow Rankers will be enough to ensure they get their players are fired up for the match.

All we have to do is ‘keep the heid’.

We’ve been in this position before, so we should know how to handle it. The Hoops will be refreshed from the wee break in Spain, and I’m sure Ghord will want to get this game out the way.

Selection wise? That’s anyone’s guess.

But I’ll take a stab at the following:

Boruc, Hinkel, Loovens, McManus, Naylor; McGeady, Nakamura, Caldwell, Crosas; Skippy and Big Jan.

C’mon the Bhoys!!!!

John Fallon Says….These Are MUST Win Games!

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments Comments Off

Time To Turn The Screw

We are now entering a phase of must-win games if we’re to retain the title, and make it four-in-a-row.

I was pleased with the Accies game on Saturday. The attitude and mental awareness was right from the start of the game, and with no disrespect to Hamilton, we won comfortably.

This is the same attitude that we’ll need to take into tonight’s match against Falkirk, who were unlucky on Sunday, and when we play the Jam Farts at Swinecastle on Saturday. In fact, right until the last ball is kicked at the end of the season!

We cant afford to drop points if we want that title. I’m sure we won’t.

Back to the Accies game. It was good to see Sammy get his two goals, both well taken, and what about the pass from Naka for Aiden’s goal? It was sublime. Yet another good goal.

But, I do have a confession to make. I missed big Jan’s screamer.

I Missed His Screamer!

I Missed His Screamer!

You see, it was my outlaw’s golden wedding anniversary on Saturday and just as I got to London Road/Springfield Road, the big man bagged his goal. (feck!)

Still, when I got to the church where they were renewing their vows, before he was about to say Mass, I told the parish priest that I hade missed a miracle today.

He asked me what it was and I told him that I missed Jan’s first goal since last September. His reply was “My God you DID miss a miracle!”

Piss-up At Cameron House Carry On

What about this piss-up at Loch Lomond? I can’t understand how any manager would let this happen. Where was his backroom staff? They should have checked on the players.

We were NEVER allowed to drink in the hotel bar.

Of course they had to drag another five players into the scene when really there was only TWO culprits. I also heard that there were verbals between the pair and the Scotland staff.

We shouldn’t be surprised, just look at their antics on Wednesday at Hampden. That was typical ‘we’re Rankers, f**k you’ attitude, the same as their fans have.

Talking about that mob, Scott Brown has a bit of a carry on after Aiden birthday bash, and the usual Hun comes spouting to the press about his behaviour.

As always, the poor wee Hun was a ‘victim’ because Broonie’s mates started singing at him. Boo-hoo!

Just like Manchester, always the victim, never the culprit.

Big Thanks In Order

I know I’m a bit late with this but I’ll say it anyway! Thanks a million to the bhoys and ghirls of Wimbledon CSC who gave Charlie Gallacher, Jim Ward and myself a great weekend a fortnight ago.

Shebeen provided the entertainment and as always, were brilliant, well done guys.

That was Saturday, on the Sunday I had to dash home to freshen up for BBJ’s tribute dinner at the Hilton, Glasgow.

At the top table was the man himself, WGS, Peter Lawwell, John Gaughan, guest speaker John Aldridge and comedian Bobby Davro.

I had to cut the night short after a late night Saturday, still it was really enjoyable.

That’s all for this time, keep the faith,

HH,

John Fallon
