“He Will Build On This Goal To Help Us Win The Title.”
Posted by: | CommentsMurderwell 2 Celtic 3. Tony’s Post Match Prediction….
Now this is just what we want to hear! At last you can sense that Celtic are a team capable of overcoming adversity with the type of football we all want to see.
After taking the lead through big Sammy, who had another great game, we fell asleep to let Murderwell back into the game. Both goals we conceded were easily preventable and only better concentration will put a stop to these defensive lapses.
However, if anyone questioned the character of the side, then the Bhoys came up trumps today.
First Aiden scored a sublime equaliser, then as if it was written in a script, out of luck Marc-Antoine Fortune came on as sub and rifled a screamer into the Murderwell net to make it 3-2 to Celtic.
Three well deserved points that could have been a bit more comfortable had Barry Robson not missed a penalty at 2-2, our third miss in recent weeks.
As Tony says, this could be a game that goes a long way to deciding the destination of the title!
Cheating And The Arsenal Connection..
Posted by: | CommentsDo They Practice Cheating In North London?
I never thought that I’d have to revisit the ‘cheating Arsenal’ row so soon, but as everyone saw last night in Paris, cheating and the Arsenal are linked in a fashion of more than co-incidence.
We all know that their manager Arsene Wenger has selective sight when it comes to cheating, as the Eduardo case proved and now we have former Gooner legend Thierry Henry deliberately handling the ball on the touchline to assist the French equalising goal.
He then denied it was deliberate!
Which begs the question, Is Cheating Taught or Accepted At Arsenal?
After all Henry spent most of his career there, under the guidance of Wenger who NEVER criticises any wrongdoing by his players, Gallic or otherwise.
So, all this poses another yet question, Do Cheats Never Win?
Well just ask Aiden and his Republic of Ireland team mates…..
If justice is to be done, the Wenger way, then Ireland should appeal the result. It worked for Arsenal….
Good Luck Aiden, Good Luck Sammy!

Tonight two of our Bhoys Aiden McGeady and Georgios Samaras will have a final throw of the dice to get themselves and their respective countries to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Aiden goes to Paris with the Republic of Ireland to overturn a 1-0 deficit and Sammy heads to the Ukraine in the hope of Greece nicking a victory or even a score draw to take the Greeks through.
Making it to the World Cup will hopefully give the players just the boost they both need to kick start their club season and push Celtic on to another title.
We could do with a boost after the Chuckle Brothers’ display at the weekend for Scotland!
Are International Caps Always For The Best Players?
Posted by: | CommentsNot Really
International week doesn’t really do much for the Celtic Fanzone patrons, in fact we only see it as an unnecessary break in the more important issues, like playing for Celtic.
Of course it’s nice to see our Bhoys play well, like Broonie scoring for Scotland and Aiden get another 20 minutes under his belt for the Republic after last week’s fiasco.
But it does make you think, Is it really the best players that get most of the caps?
The answer to that question lies with this amazing statistic.
Without doubt the greatest team ever to come out of Scotland, the Lisbon Lions managed to collectively gain just 117 caps between them, with our greatest ever player Jimmy Johnstone winning 23 caps.
Since then players like Stewart McKimmie, Graham Alexander and Colin Calderwood have all been capped more than wee Jinky.
So the answer to the question is quite obvious, the best players don’t always get the most caps!
