If you keep telling yourself something often enough, you’ll start believing it. I’m sure it’s called brainwashing.
I tried it last night before I went to bed. I kept repeating, “I am 6′, I am 6′, I am 6′”!. And do you know what, this morning I was…..still 5’6″!!
My point? Administrators, media, ex-players are all toeing the party line that despite their imminent liquidation, Rangers* history stays intact and will continue.
Just like I am NOT 6′ tall, and the truth hurt as I barely reached the top of my wardrobe, Rangers* history ceases the day they enter liquidation. End of.
Do we think they’ll finally get a grip, show some remorse and develop a new outlook to go with their ‘Newco’ club and admit to their lying, cheating and bigoted past? And maybe even say ‘sorry’!
No chance. Charles Green is just an extension of the shysters he succeeded. His moonbeam statements, his blame shifting and his lack of honesty sees him as a ’ fit and proper’ person to run the Newco.
Keep up the good work Charles…you deserve each other.

FZ do you or any one on this site know what happens now the reason I ask is this D&P say that Green can have the assets for £5.5m and can,t be out bided by anyone (if he has £5.5m)and green says that any player who does not transfer over to the newco is in breach of their contract. I am confused as I thought once tomorrow comes they are dead and the players could move freely and assets sold to the highest bidder be it Green, White, Blue Knights,Tesco or whoever
Let’s see what happens once the HMRC boys ‘set aboot them’. They wont have many rocks to hide under then. I can see a few people in the near future catching a one-way flght to Brazil.
Even if they get straight in to the SPL they will be a wounded animal owned by a man with an even smaller biscuit tin than Whyte. Managed by a failed TV pundit and a dissolutioned playing staff. Their revenues will be diminshed straight from the off with no European football for 3 years at least and never forget UEFA…they could impose even bigger sanctions. Also as Mrhappy quite rightly pointed out they dont have a right to finish in the top six.
Remember last season how many teams came close to skinning them. Its all about confidence in these teams as we know. We could see them next year well outside the top six.
I say bring it on…if they still have a ground and can play there.

Rmabhoy, I think everyone is confused where Charles Green is concerned. As far as the SPFA are concerned the players are free as of tomorrow according to this mornings radio. As for D&P doing a deal for £5.5M, well I’m sure the HMRC would like a word on that one. Surely the ‘assets’ Green has supposedly bought must be worth more than that to the creditors. Otherwise, why appoint BDO as liquidators?

Gerry, just heard on Clyde that Charles Green is going on a ‘charm offensive’ with the other SPL chairmen. That should be interesting.

Unfortunately HMRC has stated they would not interfere in any sale of assets to C G. Whether the liquidators have another agenda or further remit remains to be seen. However, they can only sell off remaining assets and it is within the time scale of their appointment for D&P and C G to conclude the existing sale contract. That means that whatever C G buys would no longer be an available asset for the liquidation sale.

Green has also come out and said he has lost investors as a result of the failure to agree a CVA…shame.

Just read on BBC that BDO will assess what is left after transfer to newco. Why are they waiting? Surly in the interests of creditors they should pad lock the gates and set about a big inventory check of the current company..then sell all the rubbish to the highest bidder. In the interest of not wanting to kick a dog when it is down, I am prepared to buy them the pad lock!
I think the Green man is doing a fine job.

My wife says these last two days are the happiest i’ve been since we got married. Good things come to those who wait and i’ve waited all my life for this bastion of hatred toward all that i hold dear, to die…. I am extremely happy as my wife will testify.
Their fans, the media and whoever else can claim whatever they like but the facts are that Rangers F.C. established 1872 will cease to exist after 14th June 2012. Their fans know it, the media knows it and so does everybody else and no amount of posturing or tabloid column inches will change that fact. It may be a hard and bitter pill for them to swallow but swallow it they must.
Now that Rangers F.C. have been consigned to history the lobbying and scaremongering will begin on behalf of the newco by the same fans, journos and pundits who worshipped at the altar of the old club, so in that respect not much will change.

Andybhoy, maybe this time they won’t get away with as much. Their ‘dominance’ is over. No longer will they automatically be put on a pedestal. Effectively, they’re done.
You’re right FZ they (R*ngers F.C. est 1872) are done, but as you have already seen from the former club’s fans and the usual suspects in the press they are pretending that nothing has really changed.
Even today the press/media are reporting that Charles Green is the *NEW OWNER OF R*NGERS* and that Walter Smith is leading a consortium to try and wrestle control of the club.
The only problem with statements like that are that Charles Green is NOT the NEW OWNER he is the owner of a NEW CLUB that purchased the assets of the former R*ngers F.C. And as for Smith wrestling control of the club, would that be the club that no longer exists or the one Charles Green has just established.
These statements are media spin, they deliberately fail to distinguish between the old club and the new one all in the hope that if they ignore the facts and say something often enough that version will become fact.
My point FZ is that old club, new club the usual hacks and pundits will continue to behave as they did before with impartial reporting etc because they refuse to distinguish between the two.
