Scott Brown Set For Move Down South!

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments (18)

Player of the Year On His Way

Celtic Fanzone can reveal from a very reliable source that Celtic and Scotland’s Player of the Year candidate Scott Brown is on his way OUT of Paradise.

Broonie's Replacement?

Broonie's Replacement?

What will come as a shock to the Faithful, is the news that agents are actively trying to find a suitor for the midfield player.

It has been suggested that Celtic want to cash in on Broonie while his stock it at it’s highest, with Hamilton’s James McCarthy already lined up as a possible replacement.

Some at the club are still sore about not selling on the Holy Goalie last season after the European Championships, and are determined not to get caught out again.

Of course the club will deny all knowledge…until a formal offer is made and the board take the cash!

Footnote: Over at HunsR Us, Steve Davis is being touted as their main selling asset, (only one) and is also being touted around clubs down south.

John Fallon Says….The Silence Is Deafening!

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments Comments Off

More Media Ignorance

Hail! Hail!

As we stated yesterday, the silence from the media about our reserves magnificent eighth title in a row was deafening!

Where was the FIVE page spread? Where were the banners proclaiming our victory?

No where to be seen. All they could muster was a page about Paddy McCourt and Simon Ferry. And if any of you watch Celtic TV you’d already know about both Paddy and Simon.

But then again…we’re paranoid!

Now, it gets worse. The Rankers Youth lost to Hibs in last night’s cup final and Hampden. So, instead of giving the youngsters from the East a bit of press, they hide their achievement in a corner, and splash the rest of the paper with photos (pass the sick bag) of Boydichenko.

Calderwood, Clark And Nicholl

Calderwood, Clark And Nicholl

Typical Rectum.

His snarling coupon is plastered over TWO pages, crowing about his 100 goals. Of course it fails to mention that 19 of those goals were penalties and that ONE was against the Hoops! (feckin’ useless!)

Anyway, on to this weekend game. The Sheepherders are apparently going to ‘get in our faces’ and stop us playing. Well, we’ll soon see if our wee trip to Spain has galvanised the Bhoys for the run-in.

It will be interesting to hear Tango and Sash when we beat them.

That’s it for me,

God Bless,

John Fallon

The Original Holy Goalie

P.S. Big thanks to all at the Kirkintilloch CSC for their hospitality last Saturday night at the Castlecary Hotel. Cheers Bhoys!

The Myth of Murray Park…Part 2

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments (1)

Another Blow To Murray’s Domination

Only a day after conceding the reserve league title, for the eighth time, at Legoland, The Mint’s vision of domination lies in tatters.

With all the state-of-the-art resources available at Murray Park, Rankers under 19’s expected to sweep Hibs’ young guns away at Hampden last night.

A win for the mini-Huns would have resulted in the Daily Record spinning another five page special on us, but alas, it was not to be.

Simon Starts Off Week Of Misery In Legoland!

Simon Starts Off Week Of Misery In Legoland!

Hibs scored with the last kick (well, header) of the game to send the young Orcs home defeated by two goals to one.

Two days, two games……. trophies……nil!

Never mind, at least the mini-Huns coach Billy Kirkwood was abit more gracious in defeat than his reserve counterpart Tommy Wilson was on Tuesday.

Kirkwood gave credit to the Hibs players for playing to the final whistle, thus securing the Youth Cup to go with the league title they won last week.

Unfortunately, the day before Wilson could only moan that Celtic ‘devoted more resources to their reserve team’ and that the reserve Huns had players out on loan, and playing with the Hitler youth.

Talk about bitter....

Well at least that’s one thing they’re getting right at Murray Park!

The Myth of Murray Park..

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments (1)

Reserves Make It EIGHT In A Row

Congratulations to Willie McStay, Danny McGrain and the Bhoys for clinching the club’s EIGHTH Reserve League title in a row!

Simon Ferry’s goal secured a 1-0 victory at the Bigot Dome yesterday to send the Faithful in the 3,000 crowd home delirious.

But, I have a confession to make. I bought the Daily Record today, with good reason I might add…

Celtic Scorer-Simon Ferry

Celtic Scorer-Simon Ferry

You see, two years ago this month, at Hampden Park on a sunny evening our young guns capitulated to the young Huns and lost 5-0.

I’m not reminding you as some sort of masochist, it’s just that the following day, the aforementioned paper ran a FIVE page spread on how Murray Park was, at last, the field of dreams that it promised to be.

We were told, in no uncertain terms,  that the £14m initial investment and £1m annual running costs was well worth the money, when you consider the conveyor belt of talent it was producing.

As Joe Friday Would Say…”Just The Facts M’am”

Yes, the facts do belie the mass hysteria of the Laptop Loyal. (As they usually do..)

So, let’s look at the last ten years…

Under-19 League Championships;

Celtic 5…..Rankers….3

Reserve League Championships;

Celtic 8…..Rankers…..1

SPL

Celtic 6….Rankers….3

(This season not included, will soon change that 6 to 7!)

And all this time Celtic had to use Barrowfield!

So, just where is this conveyor belt of talent?

In the first team? Nope, only John Fleck has managed to get a sniff, then Wattie realised that he had the new Lionel Messi on his hands, and dumped him in the reserves.

Any others….well…not really.

So is Murray Park the field of dreams, or is it just a drain on the depleted Hun coffers? I think we all know the answer to that one. (Maybe they should put a bar in it, bring in some money from regulars Bazza and McGregor)

And of course, today’s Daily Record had…a page and a half on Celtic’s EIGHTH title win.

Surprised? Naw, me neither….

John Fallon Says….Lost Weekends!

Posted by: Fanzone | Comments Comments Off

Hail! Hail!,

As the tumbleweed blew across Timland over the weekend, has it ever crossed your minds, what would we be doing if Brother Walfrid never started his plans?

Where would you have gone on Sauturday’s? Who would you have supported?

That very thought crossed my mind on a number of occasions this last weekend. No football, no Celtic…my God no!

Thank You Brother Walfrid!

Thank You Brother Walfrid!

At least during the close season we have something new to look forward to..the new season!

Getting back to my question, how would you have filled your weekend without going to see the Hoops?

Play bowls, or golf? There was a time when we wouldn’t (us Tims) be allowed to join golf clubs, at least nowadays things have changed for the better, through being Celtic fans and through the success of the club, doors have opened all over the place in our favour!

Yes, life would not be the same were it not for Brother Walfrid’s dream. Us Celtic supporters have a lot to thank the Marist Brother for.

When Celtic are not playing, I’m lost. Just ask Esther! I’m at a loose end, don’t know what to do with myself. I don’t like reading what the papers have to say and won’t listen to the radio bias.

No Celtic? Cannot bare to think about it…..give us your thoughts.

Hail! Hail!

John Fallon

The Original Holy Goalie

P.S. Good luck to Willie McStay and his Bhoys today at Legoland. It would be gr8 to win the Reserve league there!
