Paradise Heaven As The Bhoys Score 7 !!!!!
Posted by: | CommentsThe Celtic Faithful were given a real treat today in Paradise as “The Bhoys “put on a show of attacking football played ‘The Celtic Way’ and not surprisingly the atmosphere within Celtic Park was great as we all revelled in this game and the final result.
If the truth be told we could actually be sitting back in our rightful spot at the top of the league had The Bhoys taken all the other chances they had today but at least after last weeks drought at Fir Park we did score, with seven of them, and had we even taken similar chances in the last few weeks we would be sitting top of the league on points not worrying about goal difference.
There were a lot of murmurings around the ground from “The Faithful” in regard to the fact we scored seven without reply but that once again our main strikers, all three of them, failed to get on the score sheet with the goals coming via our midfield trio of Shunsuke Nakamura with a “hat-trick”, Scott Brown with two and Marc Crosas with an absolutely fabulous strike which eclipsed his goal for the reseves in midweek and finally the other goal being an own goal.
Add to this the fact Big Jan missed a first half penalty and you can understand why some of the “Bhoys & Ghirls” have concerns about the current form of our main strikers.
Now we must build on this big win, which cut back our goal difference, and look to do a similair job against Killie this coming Wednesday night.

All For One, And One For All!

Come three o’clock this afternoon we’ll either be chasing the Huns by points or still in touch with goal difference.
Either way, the Celtic faithful will have a massive part in how the team react
to closing the gap.
You see, the atmosphere at Celtic Park goes one of two ways. On any European night Paradise is the best place in the world to be and would lift the spirits of any player.
Conversely, on a dull Saturday afternoon against SPL opposition we expect to beat, the very same ground can be intimidating, for the Hoops players.
When the crowd are quiet the most vocal are the ones who like to criticise, boo and jeer at the first bad pass, miss or lost tackle. It really makes me wonder why they bother coming to Celtic Park in the first place.
I know the age old, “I’ve paid my money so I can boo if I like” comes out when you ask them to support the team.
The answer given says it all. The same fans want to see the team play “The Celtic Way” and I agree entirely. But booing, jeering and criticising your own players is NOT “The Celtic Way”.
So to all the discontented, support the Celtic or don’t bother going to the game. At this important time of the season it should be “All For One And One For All!”
Stopping Nine-In-A-Row..

Don’t you find it a bit sinister that the Scottish Premier Reserve League is to be disbanded after this season?
At this time Celtic are sitting comfortable, twelve points clear of their nearest rivals, the wee Huns, (not Hearts, Rangers reserves), and going for eight in a row!
Yip, eight league titles in a row.
You’d have thought the press would have made a bit more of a fuss about this sustained success.
Remember when we were treated to a six page spread in the Daily Rag after the Hitler Youth won the League Cup two seasons ago?
Extolling the wisdom of investing in Murray Park, and how the future of Der Hun was secure with the conveyor belt of talent it would produce.
But no, nothing said. It’s as if winning the Reserve League is incidental, unless the MM win it of course.
So the next best step to stop the Hoops is….. disbandon the league.
Well at least well get another trophy to keep for the cabinet, unless they ask for it back that is!
“Football Without The Fans is Nothing”
Posted by: | CommentsBring Back The Good Ol’ Days!
Remember when you used to go to see Celtic and the atmosphere was brilliant? Standing in The Jungle, rain, hail or shine singing our hearts out for the Hoops.
Week in week out, the same folks belting out every favourite song of the
Bhoys. Back then it was..
“We Don’t Need Your Colin Stein, Eusebio or Alan Gilzean, We’ve Got Someone Twice As Good, We’ve Got Harry Hood!!
“Jimmy, oh Jimmy Johnstone
oh Jimmy Johnstone on the wing,
Jimmy, oh Jimmy Johnstone
oh Jimmy Johnstone on the wing”
Forgive me for getting all nostalgic, but what happened to those days?
I know the Justice Taylor report meant that we were forced to have an all seated stadium, but even then for a while Celtic Park was electric, especially on European Nights.
But that’s all in the past, unfortunately.
And to make matters worse we have some half-baked security officer in Middleborough telling the Boro fans to be quiet and only sing or cheer when they score. (Not much noise there then)
To quote the legendary Jock Stein, Celtic’s Greatest Manager, “Football Without Fans is Nothing” (Check your season book, it’s on the front)
I hope we never, ever, forget that.
Same Team Just Confidence Missing..
Posted by: | CommentsTonight saw the return of Champions League football, albeit without Celtic’s involvement.
We were disposed of by holders Manchester United, Villarreal and minnows
Aalborg before Christmas.
So, I watched the Inter Milan v Man Utd game without having to worry about the result affecting the Hoops.
And what struck me at half-time was the way that the current holders played the two in a row Italian champions off the park for the whole of the first half.
A team with plenty money, containing Zanetti, Adriano, Cambiasso, Ibrahimovic etc, managed by the Special One, were bereft of ideas in the San Siro.
Yet when the same Man U side displayed all their talents at Celtic Park earlier in the competition, they found themselves a goal down.
In fact they had to wait until seven minutes from the end before they found an equaliser.
My point.
Celtic, the same team that is currently out of sorts, more than held their own against the European Champions. This team can do better, we’ve proved it, lets just keep the faith, get some confidence back and we’ll soon find our winning ways again.
