The Cover-Up Continues….

By Fanzone

SPL Report A Dud

While listening to Radio Snyde on Friday, a caller asked a very pertinent question about the findings of the SPL report submitted by observer Alan Dick, regarding the the bigoted bile that emanated from the Rankers end in last month’s O*d F*rm match.

The groans from the panel of Shug Keevins, Peter McGuire, sorry Martin and Graham Spiers were clearly audible.

They don’t want to talk about this. That was evident. Anyway, the Shug fellow stated categorically that there would be NO action taken against Der Hun.

As far as the SPL are concerned, Dave The Rave and Permatan Bain are doing all they can to eradicate the ‘small minority’ who continue to sing bigoted songs.

In fact the Shugster went on to state that there would be ‘mayhem on the streets’ if the SPL deducted points from us or them!

How come we got dragged into this?

But, it gets better….

Spiers, who at one time was a credible journalist, if that’s possible, went a step further.

Wait ’til you hear this one….

He blamed the current wave of bigotry on ‘two characters from the North of Ireland, Martin O’Neill and Neil Lennon’. These were his exact words.

Forgetting over a century of exclusion and racist employment history, he lay the blame fairly and squarely on the shoulders of these two ‘characters’.

I nearly crashed the car when I heard this blatant attack on two of Celtic’s finest. Yet no-one challenged him.

Spiers is obviously a bitter, bitter ‘man’, who regularly dismisses all of us that use the internet to air our views as cretins, yet he does an ‘online column for The Times’.

This attack came after the bold Graham was waxing lyically about how superior the defence, midfield and attack of the Hun is compared to Celtic’s.

At least us ‘cretins’ openly show our colours. What about you Graham?

Oh aye, and Pedro said nothing worth mentioning, as usual.

I am surprised thatCeltic supporters who have intelligence but decide not to think.
“They” who make the rules but refuse to apply them are waiting for next Sunday. The perfect opportunity to entrap the Celtic Support. Our singing and chanting willbe the subject of more scrutiny thanever before.
I expect more cameras and outside mikes trained on us and our behaviour.
So “Let the people Sing ” – and think of course

Graham Spiers was actually pointing out that this was the reason that bigotry reared its ugly head. I have to stick up for this guy as he is the one and only journalist who has never shirked the issue and did not do that on Friday either. The real disappointment was the fact that the caller was never allowed to come back to voice a further point. I was ridiculed by andy walker and Peter McGuire for suggesting 6 years ago that Neil Lennon was harrassed at every ground in Scotland because he was a high profile Irish Catholic playing for Glasgow Celtic. andy had the reason down to the fact that he was a very good footballer. Graeme Spiers was the only panelist who agreed with me. that was 6 years ago and from talking to him I know he has not changed that view.

Thats complete rubbish about speirs blaming the bigotry on MON and lennon. You totally missed his point. He said that bigotry was always here, but that the prescence of two successful irishmen in MON and Lennon was what the huns couldnt handle and this resentment stoked up their pre-existing problem. I cannot understand how you missed this. You should retract that claim because its just untrue.

You should retract that claim because its just untrue?Don’t think so, his reference to the ‘two characters’ was an insult in itself.

Fanzone, Stop clutching at straws. This is anon-article. It should never have been written. Yes he did state “two characters from NI” but immediately named MON and NL. I have no doubt he was referring to the audacity in the eyes of THEM that those “two characters” come to Scotland and make the Celts successful. Very Poor

keevins is a narrow minded out of date hack who could’nt write for shit, his head is so far up messrs murray ‘n’ bain arses he’s looking through orange coloured eyes never mind blue tinted specs. Let us sing our hearts out on sunday with all the world watching and show the world how great it is to be a celtic fan.

  7. Jamie Bhoys Dad says:

This story is as bad as the red top papers that we all hate because of the crap thats in them. G Spiers said that the huns couldnt handle the fact that 2 catholics from the north of Ireland where in Glasgow being a success at Celtic and that fanned the flames of their own bigotry, not for a moment did he say that the 2 individuals had blame laid at their door.

  8. Fanzone says:

    Non article?
You don’t have to read it.
    Got any better? Feel free…

  9. Fanzone says:

Are you sure you listened to the same programme? His reference to these “two characters” was loud and clear. Maybe you’ve been conned by his previous anti-rangers stance that you believe anything he says?
