In true O*d Firm week fashion a row has broken out about Celtic trying underhand tactics to influence the match official ahead of Sunday’s game.
A ‘mole’ from the club has ‘leaked’ information about a meeting between the SFA and Celtic regarding officials’ handling of Celtic matches this season, in general.
For example:
- Two penalty kicks denied at Ipox
- A perfectly good goal disallowed at Celtic Park in the last derby
- Sammy ruled offside against Falkirk, wrongly again
- Goal chopped off at home to Hibs two weeks ago
- Niall McGinn penalty denied against Hertz
- Aiden & Darren booked against the Sheep for kicking the ball away but McLean NOT
and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
We could go on about the FAVOURABLE decisions that have gone the MM’s way, but I’ve only got an hour!
No doubt the media will make a real mountain out of this meeting, and will themselves put pressure on Dougie McDonald before a ball is kicked.
But let’s not get too carried away by thinking we’ll get a turn from DD.
McDonald officiated in the match at Easter Road after the Eduardo diving fiasco, and promptly sent Aiden off for diving! (wrongly again!)
Anyway, cast your mind back to the first derby match of the season when Judas Miller was all over the papers telling us how the refs were out to get the MM. Is that not putting pressure on the ref before the game?
Craig Thomson obviously read his comments and decided poor Kenny and his team needed a hand, by denying us two stonewall penalties!

If the refs were out to get the slimy basterds why did they do all this crap to us? I can’t believe the crap these assholes will say just to try to shut us up. Call me a cynic but the timing of this story being leaked and that the source of the leak is supposedly from within Celtic is fishier than a shark’s shite. Lets be clear here, this has done us no favours whatsoever. While rangers quietly go about their preparations for Sunday’s game, we are firmly focused in the sights of the media once again. The accusations will now be flying from the usual hacks claiming we have deliberately leaked this to put pressure on the referee before the Old Firm game, that Celtic are trying to undermine and sway Dougie McDonal’s decision making by calling into question the integrity of him and his fellow refs. This whole affair has done nothing but generate more negative stories about Celtic, and seems designed to hamper our preparations for Sunday. If this was leaked by Celtic then it’s a monumental blunder, however I suspect this leak came from within the SFA itself.
Re the ref Thomson’s partiality on the game when he went into denial. I listened to the first half on Radio Scotland and was pissed off with the commentary and Davy Dodds inane comments.Second half I changed to Radio Five Live. What a difference. The commentator remarked on the ref giving Rangers players “a free passport to foul” and he was astonished by Weir’s dirty play and the failure by Thomson or his linesmen to take action. I recommend listening to the English station in future instead of the sinecure for ex rangers players and their media brethren, that is Radio Scotland Sport.By the way,its listeners figures are dropping quite dramatically and no wonder.

The “unamed source” is quoted as saying, “We are CONSIDERING contacting the SFA to highlight our concerns—”.
It is then revealed that Celtic and the SFA HAVE HAD discussions on this issue.
So my question is, just when was this “leak” given to the BBC ?, before the discussions or after ?.
If it was after the discussions why say “We are CONSIDERING contacting the SFA ? when it has already happened ?
It was reported on NewsNow, I can’t remember by who, on Mon or Tues that PL was meeting with the SPL/SFA to discuss the situation concerning the standard of refereeing being meted out to Celtic. It was not that big a story.
Now with 3 days to go, it’s a big story!!

Today we’ve got stv telling us “celtic players are lining up” to rip into the club. What that means is that that little prick Frank McGarvey took his usual pieces of silver (I can’t remember the last time that little nyaff had a good word to say about the club, wit’s wrong Frank could they no find a wee job for you at CP??) to do his usual hachet job, and the rest of the players “lining up”?
Well we’ve got Auld Bertie (god bless you Berie) wittering on about what Big Jock used to say 40 yrs ago!! Sorry Bertie but I think you’ll find things have changed a wee bit since then! Then there’s Joe McBride, who’s obviously tickled pink that anyone’s asked him his opinion on anything, who says there’s no ref bias against Celtic! So basically Joe thinks we imagined the Linesman flagging a foul, from 2ft away on Aiden only for the ref to run 10 mtrs to book Aiden for diving, the Shaun Maloney penalty at the last hun game we got an apology for when it was to late, the legitimate goals we’ve had chopped of, laughertys GBH on Hinkel, Boyds “obstruction”the other week, offside rulings as soon as a ball is played forward to a celtic player for no other reason than he’s in his opponents half, walter smith who has carte blanche to do and say what he wants without punishment, Celtic players being booked for celebrating a goal, and on occassion sent off, while the rest of the SPL can take of there tops and run to their fans without sanction and the huns have an SPL/SFA dispensation which allows them to actually crowd surf with impunity!!
I could go on but the game would be over and I would have missed it!

Two points strike me, the first who is this Celtic “leak”, if indeed there is one, and who decided exactly when this meeting between PL and the SFA would take place, I’d pressume it wasn’t PL!!
They timed it perfectly, as I said, we’ve been done up like a kipper!!

Ps. “things evening themselves out over the season” is a PHYSICAL IMPOSSIBILITY and as an excuse it is fit only for fat boy DJ to use…It’s nothing more than a joke just as the man is himself!!

For “these things to even themselves out over the season” we would require refs to acknowledge their howlers and then knwoingly give the wronged team a favourable decision in a future game! How would this pan out?

I have made a point before, sataing that if there is skulduggery afoot in US/UK governments, and one of the biggest football leagues in the world, Serie A, is a stinking cesspool of corruption and bribery, what makes anyone think for a second that a backwoods league like the SPL in a backwoods country like Scotland is so immune from all of this?
I’m not stating with any certainty that it is, but can anyone seriously state with absolute certainty that it is NOT?
As predicted the club are now coming under heavy fire from all directions, with everybody and their granny lining up to take a pop. There was never going to be any other outcome to this ‘leak’. It was inevitable that we would be slaughtered by the media and others, accused of being paranoid, trying to put pressure on the ref before an Old Firm game, trying to make excuses for being behind in the league, blah, blah, blah. Like us, the club know how the media in Scotland operates, we knew how this story would be spun, so why the hell would anyone within Celtic leak this to the press. We have not, and never were going to gain anything by leaking this story, if the media and the SFA claim this came from a Celtic source then prove it, and don’t give me this ‘We can’t reveal our sources’ bollocks, if they are going to make such accusations then they should back them up with fact. Once again our club’s name is being dragged through the mud with nothing more than the word of some faceless hack and an un-named source. This whole thing stinks and it seems we have been stitched up good and proper.
