Robbie, Like Having A Henrik!

By Fanzone

Great To Bring On The ‘Real Deal’…

Not since we’ve had Henrik can I honestly say that we have had ‘real’ quality coming off the bench.

Now I know Robbie Keane isn’t the same kind of player as the King of Kings but he does have that WOW affect.

When you watch his movement and his ability in the final third you can see why we’re paying so much for the guy. His presence can only be good for all the players around him, especially Morten Rasmussen.

The big Dane likes to be in and around the six yard box, exactly where we need him. And if he picks up how Robbie moves and works, then short term and long term the club and player will benefit.

Getting on the score sheet for both players will do their confidence the world of good. All that’s needed if a run of games together, something Tony must do if both players are fit.

(Is this the start of something special?)

This might be a stupid question, but why was he on the bench in the first place?

I like the points above. However, I don’t think this group of players has the capability to go on the run required to pass Rangers. We left it too late. Notice I said ‘group of players” not “team”. This group is too disjointed to be thought of as a team. I think Mowbray is doing some great work, but he should be in the background doing this and we should have a stronger man on the bench as manager. Robbie Keane’s appearance on Monday night should have been enough to crush Kilmarnock on Tuesday. But the players had no clue how to cash in. The manager had no clue how to cash in either. Mowbray has a bad habit of underestimating lower level sides and being punished in the process. Falkirk, Dunfermline, St.Mirren, etc. He changes the team too often and blames the players. The job to motivate is his. He can’t do that because he is too weak. The media are walking all over him too. Of course they tried this with previous Celtic managers and were swiftly bootted out. Mowbray has shown them too much respect when they don’t deserve any. I do hope the board know who they plan having at the helm next season, because I doubt very much it will be Tony Mowbray.

And that’s why he was sitting on the bench Joe, tony thought he would show that ‘his Bhoys’ could do it without Keane.

The fact he had to bring him on at half time when we were fortunate enough to get the second goal equaliser just before H/T proves how wrong he was! I also question his other substitutions, I like big Sammi, and he can always pull a goal out of the bag from nothing, but it was plane to see (for me anyway) that Sunday just wasn’t his day and I was very surprised that he seen out the full 90.

A little off topic I know, but has to be highlighted. That was the most ridiculous penalty award I’ve ever seen yesterday. Ffs, all the opposition have to do to get themselves a penalty against us now is to get one of their players to stand in front of a Celtic defender, and when the ball comes flying in, do a wee star jump, and they’ve got themselves a penalty. And for all the hacks and ex-refs who today have said it was the correct decision, may I just say your motives for having that view are fishier than a shark’s shite. Even if there was minimal contact made, which no-one else but the ref and the hacks seemed to see, there would be a case for a penalty awarded at every corner or free-kick taken into the box in the scottish game. As for Andy Kirk’s off the ball kick at Caddis right in front of the ref as the ball went out of play, well that’s deemed okay. We would all admit that we are toiling a bit at the moment for various reasons but there has also been a lot of contentious decisions given against us this season that has cost us in games. It’s been hard enough this season without decisions like yesterday’s. I don’t like conspiracy theories as we should be good enough to beat what’s in front of us, but referees should not be above criticism and punishment from the SFA when making such ridiculous decisions. Their consistency in applying the rules of the game seem to vary on a game to game basis and that’s unacceptable. The same rules for all players, in all games is that too much to ask for. Looks like it. Just because we won yesterday doesn’t mean to say these incidents should not be mentioned, it could have been a very different outcome.

Wee note to Dunfermline’s Steven bell 10/10 for the star jump son, looking forward to your cartwheels and roly-poly’s in next years scottish cup.

    Hail Hail.
