Celtic Fanzone can exclusively show Jos Hooiveld taking in the fantastic arena that is Celtic Park this afternoon.
The Dutch centre-half is in Glasgow for a medical and is expected to sign as soon as celtic and AIK have reached an agreement.
The 26-year-old was instrumental when AIK won the Swedish title last year and the club are thought to want around 1.5 million euros (£1.35m) for their star.
The building continues as Tony adds more and more quality to the Celtic side he wants to create.

I think arseshavin is a plant with his negative comment about the boy. LOL @ poncho for finding him out, well done that bhoy. If he’s as good as the last Swede we got from AIK then I’ll be happy. I think TM is gonna start putting his stamp on the team and personalise it to his liking. Hope this bhoy is the first of the rebuilding we need, esp at the back.

You guys have gotten yourselves a great deal. He is perhaps the best central defender we’ve had in AIK since Johan Mjällby, I’m sure you remember him.
Just wanted to say that you guys have nothing to worry about, he is a great football player, a natural leader on the pitch, and a great guy. I wish him and Celtic all the best.

Congrats Celtic-fans, Hooiveld was one of the best players in the lineup for AIK in 2009! He’ll do a great job for you. Do you guys know what the final fee was?
According to me this is the best defender in AIK since Mjällby. He has only been sent off once in AIK, and that was a soft one in a friendy, so any rumours about him being booed of the pitch and such is false. Apart from being a great leader in defence he is also great in the air, comfortable with his feet and has great fighting spirit. I am pretty sure he will be a great signing for you.

We can be almost certain that this lad was recommended by former greats Henrik and Johann Mjalby which is good enough for me.
Congrats to a great signing. Jos is a great player, a natural leader and a very nice guy. He is the best defender I have seen in AIK since Mjällby. I will miss him very much. I was hoping he would stay to play the champions league qualifyers for AIK, but at the same time I am happy for Jos going to a big club like Celtic and I am sure you will be happy to have in in your team.
Jos wasn’t substituted once in AIK if I’m not wrong. He played nearly every game and those he missed was probably due to a few yellow cards and perhaps he was sidelined once or twice in early stages of the cup to give other players a chance to get a few games. Other than that he was easily one of the best players over the season. Part of his success though was that the entire defence was solid and worked extremely well togheter. He has got one hell of a left foot. Both sensitive and powerful.
Good luck in Celtic Jos. And congratulations Celtic. I had really hoped Jos would stay at least another season, especially with the Champions League qualifications coming up. He became a firm favourite among the fans immediatly, he has a great sense of humour and well… I doubt there’ll be anything but love at first sight. And to think he probably has the best years of his career ahead of him. You probably liked Johan Mjällby (who’s nothing less than an icon for us), and as someone else said, Jos is one of the best defenders who have worn the AIK shirt since then.

Mjällby has vouched for this guy, something I’ve never heard him do for another player. If that doesn’t tell you, I don’t know what will.
He’s pretty strong as well. Single-handedly ripped the trophy photo sign off the podium and carried it two laps round the ground after the cup final in november…:

I haven’t seen Jos Hooiveld play but the tributes from AIK fans are very reassuring. If Jos is anywhere near as good as Johann Mjallby was then Celtic will start to get our season back on track and win the championship back from the filth.

I couldn’t claim to know Jos from Adam but it is utterly fantastic to read all of the glowing tributes on here from the AIK faithful. It says so much more to me than any hastily thrown together rag articles that will undoubtedly appear tomorrow. Now for Sean St Ledger to join him in an all new shiny centre back partnership!

He is an amazing player, he has done an incredible season in AIK where he was without a doubt the best center-defender in the whole series – remember that this was his FIRST season in the team as well!
And I promise you that you will love him, really love him. We did.
Even after only a season, he was my favourite player in AIK, he’s charming, funny, cool and a great football player.
