Do They REALLY Want Us?

By Fanzone

Or Is It Just Lip Service?

Now that Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has chipped in to the O*d Firm (I hate that word!) joining the English Premiership you have to ask the question, Why?

Why would anyone in the EPL want the big two to join their ranks?

Fair enough the size of the clubs are massive compared to the likes of Hull City and Wigan but having us down there every other week would bring it’s own problems.

For a start, the rampaging hordes of Huns crossing the border to loot an pillage every English town or city they enter would be enough to put the most fervent advocate of the move off.

Then there’s the difference in quality.

An average Championship side would run amok against either of the two teams at this minute. Sunday is as good a reminder as any.

Sure through time we’d get it right, but how long would we have to wait. Five years? Ten years? Or more?

Anyway, it’s all pie in the sky just now. Every manager down south can say they’re in favour of the move but ultimately is up to their chairmen.

If they don’t agree then the deal is dead.

We drew 3-3 with the ‘mighty’ Falkirk on sunday. Let’s just forget it.

It’s all about the money P11 and what we could do with it.

It would mean broadening our already global fan base and ‘Brand’ exposure, which would result in more lucrative sponsorship deals.
When you take in the merchandising, in it’s many guises, now, and more so in the future, global online facilities. The difference to the club financially and as a whole, and the difference to what you’ll see on the park every week, (the type of player we could attract to the club) , is unimaginable!

And you get a big wad of dosh of the EPL.

Listen – they call the meeting on the back of the Bolton chairman say so. JJB stadium? JJB in with the huns?

If it was 1 of the big 4 then I would sit up – I hope something comes of it but the auld half glass is still half empty :-(

heard something on the real radio chuckle in the night as I sat in the car park that is the M80 trying to get back to costa del coatbridge -

Rangers and Celtic joining the EPL is just like viagra, it will give the leauge the lift it needs. I didn’t know it needed a lift, so watch out for Jumbo Jambo repeating this crap!
