Mark Venus…Newsflash!

By Fanzone

Time Isn’t An Option

I was quite intrigued to listen to assistant manager Mark Venus comment yesterday that Mogga and the backroom Bhoys won’t be rushed into signing someone just for a Champions League tie.

He then admitted having limited knowledge of European football.

Newsflash Mark!

At Celtic you don’t get time. It’s fine saying you want to build a team that will last four or five years but in this town, you’ve got to get results…..fast!

I’ve no doubt that the whole joining Celtic thing has yet to fully settle in but as far as the Faithful are concerned, once the Hoops take the field for the first time….it’s honeymoon over.

So Mark, sometimes it’s better to say nothing at all.

“Celticfanzone News Flash” Glad Venus is there and you are NOT

  2. Fanzone says:

Sorry pal, don’t get your response?

  3. thebonnerbhoy says:

criticising the guy for being honest?

last year you lot were moaning that WGS would never give a straight answer…. MAKE UP YER MIND!

you either want honesty, or you dont. pick a side and stick to it.

  4. Bill Leckies pie munch says:

Does anyone seriously think he will have underestimated the sheer magnitude of the task ahead with Mr Pointer around to keep him right?

  5. Thomas says:

As far as you are concerned, the ‘honeymoon’ was over within two days of Tony Mowbray’s arrival. That was the date of your first negative post.

This is now your sixth consecutive snide blog about the club you claim to support. There has been very little objective analysis, or solutions to what you perceive to be major problems. Also, in my experience, your remarks do not reflect the attitude of the majority of supporters I know.

So my question to you is, what’s the problem? An agenda against Tony Mowbray? The desperate need for a summer holiday? Been chucked by your burd? Or are you, as your blog suggests, the online equivalent of a bitter old woman, whining about your neighbours?

  6. Fanzone says:

Welcome back, now that you’ve got rid of wee Ghord you’re supporting the new guy in town!

  7. Fanzone says:

Just media fodder until he learns the ropes I think!

  8. Fanzone says:

Thanks for counting Thomas! Maybe I’m not getting too carried away with the new bhoys. Holidays from Celtic? Don’t exist, its 24/7 unless you know better? “Also, in my experience, your remarks do not reflect the attitude of the majority of supporters I know”. Is that a fact? Did the MAJORITY want rid of WGS? Can’t remember any of this ‘lets all get behind the manager when WGS was appointed?’ But listen, its all about opinions, not slagging, I’m sure we ALL want whats best for Celtic.

  9. Yeah he also said “Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the premier league”, i would suggest he’s not quite grasped the nettle

  10. Fanzone says:

At last, someone who thinks the same!

  11. Max says:

Jim, it’s called the Scottish PREMIER League, is it not?
I can see nothing wrong with refering to the SPL as the Premier League, if you are infact in Scotland, just the same as you would call the English Premier league, the Premier League, if you were in England, or do the English own the word ‘Premier’ now as well!
I think you’re really splitting hairs to have a dig at the guy, and your comment very parochial!
